Partington residents are very fortunate to have an incredible resource for children in the area. Known locally as the Sure Start centre, this purpose built facility includes a toy library, a soft play room, a sensory room, a large creche, an outdoor play area, a family and medical rooms and a day nursery. Many courses, training and the support provided at the centre is free of charge for local residents and the support it provides to parents in the area is simply invaluable.

Centre Services

Play n Stay
Mondays, 9.30am to 11.30am
This fun and popular session has activities for children of all ages from 0-5 years. Activites include messy play, story telling, singing and lots more. Parents and carers enjoy meeting at this social weekly gathering.
Sensory Room
Mondays - Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm
The Partington sensory room is a huge hit in the area. With state of the art sensory equipment, this room is available for hire for 30 minutes or an hour by individuals and small groups for a small fee. If you would like to book the room, simply call the centre to arrange a suitable time.
Soft Play Room
Mondays - Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm
Like the sensory room, this facility is available for private hire and for people to simply turn up though it is advisable to call ahead as the room may be booked out. Popular with toddlers and children, this room is great fun and a place to climb and get active.
Breastfriends (Breast Feeding Group)
Fridays 12.30 - 2.30pm
For nursing mothers the support that you can receive through groups such as this one can be essential. For local mums who are breast feeding, come along to the group and meet other mums, for advice, tips, the latest information and stories whilst the children and babies play safely in the large play room.
Toy Library
Tuesday 10.00am - 11.15am, Thursday 2pm - 3.15pm
Based at ‘Ear 4 U’ Moss Lane, Partington, M31 4FA there is a huge range of quality, fun and educational toys and books which can be borrowed from the Toy library. Simply come along and chat to the staff about how you might use this facility.
Creative Corner
Open daily
Our arts & crafts trolley is available daily.
Midwives Clinic
Wednesday 9.00am - 3.00pm
For expectant mothers, the community midwives are at the centre to do your regular checks and offer support and advice as your baby grows. Call the centre to make an appointment or drop-in if you're unable to do so.
Courses
Vary - contact centre to sign up to Partington Pathway
Adult Learning Courses, e.g. Confidence Building, Computer Skills, Literacy & Numeracy (Trafford College) Parent & child courses such as HENRY (Healthy Lifestyles), Incredible Years (Toddlers) and Small Talk (communication skills) usually by referral from Centre Workers or Health professionals.
